Day 24 - Gros Morne - Green Point

This morning, we went hiking in Trout River on the Eastern Point trail, which was a 2.5 km round trip. The trail offered a view of the ocean looking towards Labrador. We then traveled a short distance to the Tablelands and hiked the 4 km return trail. The Tablelands is a geological area where the earth's crust is exposed. The area is devoid of most plant life, except for along the old road bed where some gravel was brought in. It has a rust-colored, moonscape-like appearance, with mountains that are flat at the top, similar to Table Mountain in South Africa. There are also several rivers that run through it and some waterfalls.

After that, we visited the Park Visitor's Centre and then the Lobster Cove Lighthouse, where it started raining. We sought shelter inside the lighthouse keeper's house and skipped the trails at that time. We then made our way to Green Point, where there was camping available. We were able to get a campsite right on the bay, complete with 2 Adirondack chairs overlooking the ocean.
