Day 1 - It's Hard to Leave Home
The goodbyes have been said, the van is packed, groceries have been purchased. We are ready to go! We are filled with butterflies and uncertainty, but there is nothing left but the leaving. Once we are on the road, we will settle into the routine of traveling and will start to enjoy. Off we go on another adventure.
We went down Grey Road 40 so that we could stop at Cabella's in Barrie to buy a new set of binoculars. We got a great pair and they were even on sale. We then headed down the 400 to the 407, about 50 kms away. We stopped at a rest stop near Port Hope to make lunch. We left the 401 around Gananoque and headed to the old Highway 2 which runs right along the St. Lawrence. So scenic hear. The islands are very rocky and lovely. We stopped at a municipal campground in Iroquois. We stayed here in 2015 on our way home from the east coast. We were so ready to stop driving. It was just after 5 p.m. when we got here. We got set up and made supper. Then had a nice walk to the seaway. It started raining when we went to Highway 2, sometimes very hard and it is quite cool here. It stopped raining when we got to the campground.
Now we are enjoying a cup of coffee and we probably watch some TV. Good night all.
Love
Pete and Angela
